Drawing Wild Animals (Gr. 6-10)

Summer 2022
Connecticut is teaming up with wondrous wildlife! In this course, learn how to draw chipmunks, cottontail rabbits, and bobcats of Connecticut. Learn how to draw features including eyes, noses, and fur as well as learn practical methods of drawing to capture anatomy and gesture. Pencil drawing techniques learned in this course will give you the tools needed to improve your approach to drawing.
Materials needed: graphite pencils (4B or similar), erasers (recommend kneaded & vinyl erasers), drawing paper/pad (9x12 or 11x14). A PDF of our subjects will be shared after our first class for convenience printing
Instruction will take place through Zoom. Registrants will receive an email from Farmington Continuing Education containing a link and instructor information before the start of the course.

New England Artist, ShawnaLee Waterbury-Kwashnak, has been drawing and painting her whole life. ShawnaLee specializes in pet and child portraiture and has been instructing art classes for more than 2 decades. She is skilled in a variety of media and is a board member of the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists.
