This course will introduce you to Yoga Asanas. In Sanskrit, the word asana translates as “seat,” specifically for meditation and, is another name for the poses or postures of yoga. Today asana is synonymous with yoga, but it is only one component. Yoga Asanas will include still, moving, reclining, standing, inverted, twisting, and balancing poses. Students can also expect to learn anatomical alignment and meditation techniques throughout the course.
Lisa has been a Yoga Alliance 200-Hr Yoga Teacher for 5 years. Since becoming certified, she has taught in studios, corporate settings and currently works exclusively with private clients. Physical activity and fitness, as well as spiritual and mental wellness, are priorities in her life. Lisa is a Transpersonal Coach trained in Shamanic and energy healing. She engages in exercise and non-exercise activities regularly including, running, hiking, and practicing her golf swing. Before becoming a Yoga Teacher, Lisa was a classroom teacher and business consultant. She has ample experience presenting and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and capabilities. She especially enjoys helping her clients connect with their bodies and learning how to honor their spirits and emotions.
