Writing with Susan - Susan Omilian

Instructor

Susan Omilian is a motivational speaker, attorney, author and nationally recognized expert has worked to end violence against women for forty years. Her passion for the work became more personal and immediate with her niece Maggie’s violent death in 1999. Driven by a desire to help women move on after abuse, her work has been described as “life-changing” and as “a component for women recovering from abuse virtually overlooked.”

Susan is the award-winning originator and facilitator of My Avenging Angel Workshops based on the idea that "living well is the best revenge." Since 2001, these workshops have provided the critical “next step” for women to break permanently out of the cycle of violence and reclaim their lives. Her book, "Entering the Thriver Zone: A Seven-Step Guide to Thriving After Abuse" sets forth the motivational guidance she has successfully used in her workshops.

She has also presented her unique and innovative work about helping women move on after abuse at national and international conferences as well as speaking to and providing training for service providers, clinicians, therapists and victim services organizations throughout the country.
