Summer WatercolorsAdult EnrichmentStart your summer off with skills to capture the welcomed sun-filled warmth and vibrant colors of summer sunsets! If you look close enough, the world all around us is filled with incredible beauty! In this class, learn the basics of watercolor techniques while increasing your awareness and observation skills as we discover and share the beauty of summer through art! Materials needed: pad of watercolor paper (9x12 or 11x15), watercolor paint brushes, paper towels, large rinse water cup, watercolor paints (tube or pan), pencil, eraser, natural sponge or similar, and masking fluid. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Drawing Wild Animals (Gr. 6-10)Youth EnrichmentConnecticut is teaming up with wondrous wildlife! In this course, learn how to draw chipmunks, cottontail rabbits, and bobcats of Connecticut. Learn how to draw features including eyes, noses, and fur as well as learn practical methods of drawing to capture anatomy and gesture. Pencil drawing techniques learned in this course will give you the tools needed to improve your approach to drawing. Materials needed: graphite pencils (4B or similar), erasers (recommend kneaded & vinyl erasers), drawing paper/pad (9x12 or 11x14). Watercolors of Summer (Gr. 6-10)Youth EnrichmentIn this beginner/intermediate course, learn vital techniques for creating gorgeous summer beach paintings! Color mixing, blending, brush strokes, etc. will be explained, demonstrated, and practiced. Students will create paintings of summertime watercolor beaches to enjoy all summer long! Materials needed: pad of watercolor paper (9x12 or 11x15), watercolor paint brushes, paper towels, large rinse water cup, watercolor paints (tube or pan), pencil, eraser, natural sponge or similar, and a stiff paintbrush or old toothbrush.
