Financial Literacy - FOR CREDIT (Gr. 9-10)
The purpose of this course is to provide a space for students to work through the Next Generation Personal Finance standards which include banking, credit, budgeting, investment, taxes and consumer skills. Successful completion fulfills the CT graduation requirement for a 0.5 credit in Financial Literacy. Enrollment is on a space-available basis.The class will be taught remotely. Login instructions will be emailed to registrants before the start of class. This course is open to FARMINGTON High School students entering grades 9 or 10 ONLY.Dates: June 25 - July 19 (no class on July 4 or 5), 8:30 AM to 12 Noon, 17 sessions.

Lights, camera, STEAM! Science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) inspire big ideas, bold action – and creativity. Our skills make it possible to create art and experiences that bring us together, entertain us, and move us. During this session, FIRST® IN SHOW presented by Qualcomm, we will celebrate the roles our STEM skills play in the arts, design, and building of a world of endless possibilities. The future is yours to create. Under the instruction of the Farmington Robotics Enforcers, students will work together to solve fun engineering challenges and build models using LEGO® bricks, gaining habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way. 1 PM - 4 PM Students in grades 1-4 Students focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. Students should bring their school/personal Chromebook or laptop to class each day, if possible, along with a healthy snack and a water bottle! Cancellation/Refund Policy: Cancellations with a refund will be allowed up to July 22th less a $35 fee.
