Arts and Crafts with Mrs. Bastiaanse-Fritch (Gr. 1-4)
A fun opportunity to create works of art using a variety of art media. Students will spend each art class exploring painting, drawing, and more! Each student will have beautiful and exciting pieces to take home at the end of the session.The course fee includes the cost of the supplies.This course has two sections. Grade 1 & 2 is offered on Mondays, and Grade 3 & 4 on Wednesdays. Be sure to choose the correct section for your child's grade level.PLEASE NOTE: This Course is for enrolled students at West District School only.*** PLEASE NOTE OUR YOUTH DISMISSAL AND PICK-UP POLICY***On the day of the course be sure to inform your child's school office, using their prescribed dismissal change policy, that your child will be attending EXCL for the enrichment course you have signed up for. Refunds will not be provided for missed classes. At the end of the school day when dismissed, students who are attending will be sent to EXCL. When the course starts, they will be brought to the course classroom by the instructor. Parents are not to bring their children to the school to attend this course, students are only to be dismissed directly from school.Parents should be prompt to pick up at the course dismissal time as charges will accrue if parents are late. Dismissal will occur at the entrance of the building and will be facilitated by the school security guard and instructor. Parents will not be permitted into the building and it is advised that parents stay in their cars until the dismissal time, or until the instructor is visible at the front door. Each parent will need to sign their child out and must have a valid I.D. ready. The I.D. must match that of the parent/guardian who signed up the child or by an authorized pick-up. To authorize an additional pick-up, please call 860-404-0290 Ext. 7070.Students who are attending EXCL on the day of the course will be dismissed back to EXCL.

Gentle Essentrics III: Ready For Summer!
Stretching and Strengthening will help you to enjoy all your favorite summer activities with ease! Core strengthening for golf, Flexiblity for gardening, Strength for hiking, walking, biking. Loosen and hydrate connective tissue and increase pliability of ligaments and tendons. Be free to celebrate the summer pain free! Inviting men and women of all fitness levels to a class taught by Gene and Debbie. Gentle Essentrics is a stretch and strengthen 45-minute workout designed to increase your energy and flexibility, loosen and hydrate fascia, decompress your joints, and release tension through relaxation and respectful exercise. Great for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. Videos are available at youtube.com or at the bottom of our website page: “essentricswithdebbieandgene.com".**Classes that take place at the Farmington First Church of Christ location are held in the lower level of the Porter Memorial Building next to the church. The door is accessable from both Church Street and School Street.**** You do not need to attend Gentle Essentrics I or II to attend Gentle Essentrics III**

This course will introduce you to Yoga Asanas. In Sanskrit, the word asana translates as “seat,” specifically for meditation and is another name for the poses or postures of yoga. Today asana is synonymous with yoga, but it has only one component. Yoga Asanas will include still, moving, reclining, standing, inverted, twisting, and balancing poses. Students can also expect to learn anatomical alignment and meditation techniques throughout the course.

A friendly exercise program that combines low-impact aerobics with stretching, strength training, and routines to improve flexibility, muscular strength, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. Previous punch cards purchased can be used. Three Options for Purchase... Course Fee - Select this if you want access to all the dates for this given season, no punch card needed. Senior Fee - Reduced rate for seniors who would like access to all the dates for this season, no punch card needed. Punch Card - Purchasing this option will get you a punch card that will allow you access to 20 sessions of Cardio Fitness across multiple seasons. If you currently have a punch card with punches left, choose this option and enter in the promo code to remove the charge at checkout. This functionally fun class provides a complete workout that will help tone and reshape your body. You will use light weights, bands, and your body weight to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina to sculpt and tone. Have a yoga mat, water, and lightweights available. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Registrants will receive an email from Farmington Continuing Education containing a link and instructor information before the start of the course. All registrants MUST complete a Waiver & Questions BEFORE the start of the course. A link to the Waiver & Questions will be included in the "notes" of the registration confirmation. Please download, complete and either email (continuinged@fpsct.org) or mail (Farmington Continuing Education, 1 Depot Place, Unionville, CT 06085). Participation in the course will not be allowed unless a waiver is on file.

Muscles in Motion

This course consists of a short warm-up and stretch followed by weight training designed to strengthen and tone major muscle groups and increase bone density. This is a full upper and lower body workout. Learn skills to enhance your overall balance and strengthen your back. Gluteus and abdominal muscles will be stressed. Flexibility, breathing exercises, and relaxation will complete this dynamic workout. Bring mat and weights to class. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Registrants will receive an email from the instructor or Farmington Continuing Education containing a link and instructor information before the start of the course.

Exercises focus on the core muscles which include the abs, back, glutes, and shoulders. We work to create balance and strength in your trunk and loose, limber limbs. Pilates strives to make you strong and long while improving balance, coordination, and posture. Every part of the body gets worked and you’ll discover muscles you never knew you had. Have a mat, water, a green (or medium weight) flex band, and a 7.5-9 inch stability ball available. Instruction will take place through Zoom.
