Artistic Creations with Mrs. Donlon (Gr. 1-4)
A fun opportunity to create works of art using a variety of art media. Students will spend each art class exploring painting, drawing, and more! Each student will have beautiful and exciting pieces to take home at the end of the session. The course fee includes the cost of the supplies. This course has several sections. Please view the dates and register for the correct section according to grade.PLEASE NOTE: This Course is for enrolled students at East Farms Elementary School only.*** PLEASE NOTE OUR YOUTH DISMISSAL AND PICK-UP POLICY***On the day of the course be sure to inform your child's school office, using their prescribed dismissal change policy, that your child will be attending EXCL for the enrichment course you have signed up for. Refunds will not be provided for missed classes. At the end of the school day when dismissed, students who are attending will be sent to EXCL. When the course starts, they will be brought to the course classroom by the instructor. Parents are not to bring their children to the school to attend this course, students are only to be dismissed directly from school.Parents should be prompt to pick up at the course dismissal time as charges will accrue if parents are late. Dismissal will occur at the entrance of the building and will be facilitated by the school security guard and instructor. Parents will not be permitted into the building and it is advised that parents stay in their cars until the dismissal time, or until the instructor is visible at the front door. Each parent will need to sign their child out and must have a valid I.D. ready. The I.D. must match that of the parent/guardian who signed up the child or by an authorized pick-up. To authorize an additional pick-up, please call 860-404-0290 Ext. 7070.Students who are attending EXCL on the day of the course will be dismissed back to EXCL.

Backed by research that shows short bouts of intense exercise can be as effective as longer more moderate workouts, this class makes it easy to fit exercise in your schedule. This class will have a short warm up and cool down, and in-between we will be working intensely with fun, full body moves. Modifications will be given so that you can work at the right pace for you. Welcome to Avon Afro Dance Fitness led by Jolie Cayer. Jolie is an experienced instructor with a certification in Health, Fitness, and Nutrition. Avon Afro Dance is where Vibrant rhythms and energetic moves come together to create an unforgettable workout experience. Our class combines traditional Central African dance techniques with cardio-aerobic fitness routines. Avon Afro Dance Fitness is committed to sharing the joy and vibrance of Afro-dance through our fitness classes. We help participants stay active while immersing them in African culture. Whether you are new to dance or a seasoned mover, our classes offer a dynamic way to get fit and celebrate the rich rhythms of Africa. Courses are 45 minutes in length. Senior Fee - Reduced rate for seniors who would like access to all the dates for this season, no punch card needed. Punch Card - Purchasing this option will get you a punch card that will allow you access to 20 sessions of Cardio Fitness across multiple seasons. Gentle Essentrics: Aging Backwards
Fitness
Gentle Essentrics is a full-body stretching and strengthening program which rebalances the body enabling our full range of motion so that we can enjoy the activities we love. A gentle full-body workout that simultaneously combines stretching and strengthening while engaging all your muscles. Experience a deep activation stretch that will work through all the joints and release tight muscles. Effective for flexibility, mobility and pain-relief, as well as injury prevention and recovery. Bring a mat, towel, and waterbottle. **Classes that take place at the Farmington First Church of Christ location are held in the lower level of the Porter Memorial Building next to the church. The door is accessible from both Church Street and School Street.**

Muscles in Motion

This course consists of a short warm-up and stretch followed by weight training designed to strengthen and tone major muscle groups and increase bone density. This is a full upper and lower body workout. Learn skills to enhance your overall balance and strengthen your back. Gluteus and abdominal muscles will be stressed. Flexibility, breathing exercises, and relaxation will complete this dynamic workout. Bring mat and weights to class. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Exercises focus on the core muscles which include the abs, back, glutes and shoulders. We work to create balance and strength in your trunk and loose, limber limbs. Pilates strives to makes you strong and long while improving balance, coordination and posture. Every part of the body gets worked and you’ll discover muscles you never knew you had. Simple Stretches with Chair Exercises

Experience a soft, simple stretch for the mind and body. Lose yourself in the music as you stretch from head to toe (part of this course stretches in a chair). This course is wonderful for those who are less mobile and not as flexible. Come exercise in a setting with support from other participants. Wear comfortable exercise clothing and socks (bare feet are fine as well).

Slo-Flow Yoga

This course offers a flowing sequence of seated and standing yoga postures, with modifications, at a relaxed pace. The focus is on mindfulness, flexibility, and stress reduction using various forms of breath work and movement for a full body experience. Poses are held for longer durations, allowing for deeper stretches and a meditative atmosphere. Leave class feeling centered, focused, and ready to start your day. Some yoga experience is helpful. Students have the following course options: Tuesday AND Thursday - Two (2) days a week Tuesday OR Thursday - One (1) day a week with the flexibility to choose a Tuesday or a Thursday on a weekly basis. Please bring a yoga mat, 2 blocks, and a yoga blanket to class.
