Arts and Crafts with Mrs. Bastiaanse-Fritch (Gr. 1-4)
A fun opportunity to create works of art using a variety of art media. Students will spend each art class exploring painting, drawing, and more! Each student will have beautiful and exciting pieces to take home at the end of the session.The course fee includes the cost of the supplies.This course has two sections. Grade 1 & 2 is offered on Mondays, and Grade 3 & 4 on Wednesdays. Be sure to choose the correct section for your child's grade level.PLEASE NOTE: This Course is for enrolled students at West District School only.*** PLEASE NOTE OUR YOUTH DISMISSAL AND PICK-UP POLICY***On the day of the course be sure to inform your child's school office, using their prescribed dismissal change policy, that your child will be attending EXCL for the enrichment course you have signed up for. Refunds will not be provided for missed classes. At the end of the school day when dismissed, students who are attending will be sent to EXCL. When the course starts, they will be brought to the course classroom by the instructor. Parents are not to bring their children to the school to attend this course, students are only to be dismissed directly from school.Parents should be prompt to pick up at the course dismissal time as charges will accrue if parents are late. Dismissal will occur at the entrance of the building and will be facilitated by the school security guard and instructor. Parents will not be permitted into the building and it is advised that parents stay in their cars until the dismissal time, or until the instructor is visible at the front door. Each parent will need to sign their child out and must have a valid I.D. ready. The I.D. must match that of the parent/guardian who signed up the child or by an authorized pick-up. To authorize an additional pick-up, please call 860-404-0290 Ext. 7070.Students who are attending EXCL on the day of the course will be dismissed back to EXCL.

Gentle Essentrics III: Ready For Summer!
Stretching and Strengthening will help you to enjoy all your favorite summer activities with ease! Core strengthening for golf, Flexiblity for gardening, Strength for hiking, walking, biking. Loosen and hydrate connective tissue and increase pliability of ligaments and tendons. Be free to celebrate the summer pain free! Inviting men and women of all fitness levels to a class taught by Gene and Debbie. Gentle Essentrics is a stretch and strengthen 45-minute workout designed to increase your energy and flexibility, loosen and hydrate fascia, decompress your joints, and release tension through relaxation and respectful exercise. Great for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. The door is accessable from both Church Street and School Street.**** You do not need to attend Gentle Essentrics I or II to attend Gentle Essentrics III**

ABE, ESL, High School Completion & Citizenship The Farmington Board of Education provides Adult Basic Education (ABE), English For Speakers of Other Languages (ESL), High School Completion (GED, CDP & NEDP), and Citizenship preparation courses are FREE to residents of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Collinsville, Farmington, Harwinton, Simsbury, West Simsbury, Weatogue and Unionville. HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION Three Pathways to Earn Your Diploma . . . 1. General Education Development (GED®) Adults who have not completed high school must demonstrate, through a four-part examination that includes a writing sample, the attainment of academic skills and concepts normally acquired through completion of a high school program. Test-takers must be at least 17 years old and submit documentation that they have been officially withdrawn from a CT school for at least six months. Individuals who pass the GED® Tests are awarded a Connecticut State High School Diploma. GED® instructional and preparation programs are provided throughout the State and in local school districts to help individuals to prepare for this rigorous examination. Other helpful links: GED Student Handbook Passing the Test - Your Guide to Success The GED® Preparation Program GED® preparation classes prepare a student to take the state-sponsored GED® Examination to earn a Connecticut State High School Diploma. The GED® diploma is based upon passing this examination, not earning credits. GED® classes provide individualized instruction for each of the four content areas of the exam - language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. These content areas will measure a foundational core of knowledge and skills that are essential for college and career readiness. The minimum age for enrollment in adult education is 17 years of age. Students must document school withdrawal with parental permission. Credit Diploma Program (CDP) - For motivated, independent learners with a busy work schedule who have 4-7 credits left to earn a diploma. Made up of a combination of teacher-led courses and an internet-based high school curriculum. Farmington Continuing Education has partnered with The Next Street to provide you with a wide selection of Drivers Education courses. All classroom work is being conducted remotely via Zoom, and The Next Street has over 30 Zoom classes being held each day! Students can join any class schedule and, once enrolled, can take these classes at any time, in any order. Driving Lessons and License Tests are being completed with significant health and sanitation requirements in place. With options for courses and certificate programs in categories such as Business, Business Communication, Human Resources, Leadership, Management, New Media Marketing, Social Media for Business, Technology Skills, Training and Education, and Training for K–12 Teachers - there’s something for everyone! With more than 100 online course topics and 30 certificate programs, you should have no problem finding a course to fit your needs today! It is easy to participate in an online course.... After you register, you will receive an email with a web address to your online classroom. You will create a password and use your email address and password to gain access.
