Intermediate French II


Adult Enrichment / Language -
Winter/Spring 2025

This course is for students who have completed the Intermediate French I and would like to hone their communication and listening skills. Students should have had 4 years of high school French or equivalent.  The objectives of this course are for you to be able to say that I can:

  • communicate on advanced topics in a variety of tenses with ease and fluency.
  • understand detailed conversations, recognize social cues, discuss literature, current events, social media, and Podcasts with ease 

Tom McGinnis

Instructor

Tom has been teaching French and Spanish in Farmington since 1997. He began teaching at Irving Robbins Middle School. For the past 21 years, Tom has been at Farmington High School.

Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree in International Management from Central Connecticut State University and obtained a Master of Arts degree in French from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Tom completed his sixth year in Spanish at Central Connecticut State University.

Tom has had the opportunity to study and travel to France, Spain, Trinidad, Montreal, and Quebec. He currently lives in Marlborough, CT with his wife and chocolate lab, Huey. He has a daughter, Shannon, who lives in Wethersfield. Tom enjoys traveling biking and hiking. His favorite place in the United States is Acadia National Park.
