This make and take hands on workshop is all about creating the most stunning patio pots on the block this Summer. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or new to the world of plants, you'll learn how to create a beautiful display that will knock the socks off your neighbors. We'll start by discussing the best plants for patio pots, including options for both sun and shade. You'll learn how to choose the right color scheme and combination of plants to create a cohesive and eye-catching display. Next, we'll cover the basics of container gardening, including how to properly prepare your pots, how to choose the right soil and fertilizer, and how to maintain your plants throughout the season. You'll also learn how to create different levels of interest in your pot, using both tall and short plants/elements. Finally, we'll discuss the best ways to add finishing touches to your patio pot, such as adding non-plant accents for a touch of magic. This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to create a beautiful and unique patio pot. You'll leave with a gorgeous 12" patio pot you created, ready for your season-long enjoyment. Kids 3 and up are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
Kaitlyn is the 4th generation owner of Larson's Garden Center. A Farm/Garden Center started in 1919 by her Great Grandmother selling homegrown fruits, veggies, and chicken roadside on Rt 6 in Bristol. 105 years later Kaitlyn has revitalized the family business, moved its location 3 times, and expanded offerings to include Landscape Design and Installation. Her fun, whimsical, and down to earth approach makes creating dream landscapes easy and effortless.
Larson's Garden Center (www.larsonsgardencenter.com) showcases the different packages Kaitlyn has created over the years to make landscape design accessible to everyone. She takes pride in matching the landscape with the personality of the people who desire it. Growing up in the industry Kaitlyn's depth of plant and maintenance knowledge is impressive, she openly shares information and hopes that it helps people succeed.
Kaitlyn graduated with honors from SNHU's 3 Year Honors program with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. She also has a certificate in Landscape Design from NVCC and over 10 years of experience in actual design, installation, and maintenance of landscapes.
