Summer 2025

Session 1: Mission To Mars (Entering Grade 7 or Grade 8) - Blast off into an unforgettable summer with our Mission to Mars program! Designed as an extension to school year programming, curious 7th and 8th graders will hone their reading, writing, math, and science skills as they explore the science behind space exploration, discover the thrilling race for dominance in space during the Cold War, and dive into captivating stories of astronauts and pioneers. Get ready for hands-on projects, interactive lessons, and out-of-this-world fun as you prepare for the ultimate mission!  Our two-week program culminates with a field trip to the CT Science Center to view and examine their “Exploring Space” exhibit, the cost of which is $16.

Session 2: The Science Behind Pixar (Entering Grade 7 or Grade 8) - This course is designed to offer accelerated learning opportunities in science, math, reading, and writing through the exciting world of movie creation and design! Using student-centered learning, students will engage in hands-on activities to strengthen key skills that are essential for success at their grade level while exploring what it takes to make a Pixar movie! Through collaborative work in small groups, students will deepen their understanding of core subjects while building confidence in their abilities to tackle content-specific challenges. Our two-week program culminates with a field trip to the CT Science Center to explore their new exhibit “The Science Behind Pixar”, the cost of which is $16.
