Enrichment courses offered for Farmington Public School employees ONLY!
In this hour and half long seminar, registrants will get a brief introduction, history, and simulated live flight of arguably the the greatest single-engine fighter of the second world war... the Supermarine Spitfire. Using Farmington High School's state of the art audio/visual equipment and the new auditorium, a CT certified Social Studies/History teacher will first provide a snapshot of aviation history and the origins the Spitfire. The seminar will culminate in a live, virtual tour and flight of the Mark IX variant in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. The flight will leave Duxford Airfield in East England, and will fly over the famed Cliffs of Dover, reminiscent of the Battle of Britain.
