If you’re an amateur or professional digital photographer who loves taking pictures, stock photography can be a great source of extra income. Stock photographers shoot a variety of images and submit them to stock agencies, which license the photos to magazines, businesses, advertisers, and publishers. Instead of hiring a photographer, these clients often purchase existing images, saving time and money. When a photo sells, the photographer and the agency share the earnings.

This course covers all aspects of the stock photography business, including what types of images sell, required equipment, metadata and keywording, digital asset management, and choosing stock agencies. You’ll also learn how to set up and run your own stock photography business. A detailed handout is included to support learning and provide a useful reference after class.
