Nancy's basket weaving journey began shortly after graduating college with a class taught by Manson-Lu Christ at Wesleyan Potters in Middletown, CT. Over the next 40 years, her newly found hobby took her to basket weaving conferences and classes in Connecticut, North Carolina, and Vermont. Renowned instructors such as Diane Stanton, Eric Taylor, Judy Olney, Flo Hoppe, Sosse Baker, and others taught her to weave baskets with rattan, wicker, paper, willow, oak, pine needle, and birch bark, in an assortment of styles, including Shaker, Nantucket, contemporary and ribbed. After retiring from the corporate world in 2020, Nancy turned her sights to sharing her knowledge with others interested in learning more about this art form. She has a studio in Unionville, CT where she helps students explore basket weaving.
