Enrichment courses offered for Farmington Public School employees ONLY!
This course is for students who have little or no French and would like to communicate in French for travel, business, and pleasure. The objectives of this course are for you to be able to say that I can:
Communicate basic information about yourself, your family, your likes and dislikes/hobbies and activities through speaking and writing.
Understand basic conversations and read simple texts, advertisements, and informational handouts through a variety of listening/video activities and reading selections.
Order meals in restaurants, shop at stores and make reservations at hotels

Tom has been teaching French and Spanish in Farmington since 1997. He began teaching at Irving Robbins Middle School. For the past 22 years, Tom has been at Farmington High School.
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree in International Management from Central Connecticut State University and obtained a Master of Arts degree in French from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Tom completed his sixth year in Spanish at Central Connecticut State University.
Tom has had the opportunity to study and travel to France, Spain, Trinidad, Montreal, and Quebec. He currently lives in Marlborough, CT with his wife and chocolate lab, Huey. He has a daughter, Shannon, who lives in Wethersfield. Tom enjoys traveling biking and hiking. His favorite place in the United States is Acadia National Park.
