Connecticut Boating Certificate
BOATING, PERSONAL WATERCRAFT, and WATER SKI SAFETY CERTIFICATE CLASS This all-inclusive course allows you to legally operate a boat, personal watercraft, and includes the modern water ski towing endorsement. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have learned about state and federal boating laws and guidelines. They will have earned a CT Safe Boating Certificate (often referred to as the "Boater's License"). The State Certified instructor will guide you through the download process which includes a one-time additional payment due to the State of Connecticut of $50.00 per certificate. You are then certified for life. Connecticut's Safe Boating Certificate has reciprocal value throughout the entire United States and its Territories. Paddles on the Farmington Series with Main Stream Canoes & Kayaks
1. Intro to Paddling – West Hill Lake (Meet at West Hill Lake ) Difficulty: Beginner | All Ages Enjoy a calm, beginner-friendly paddle while learning basic techniques and water safety. Ideal for first-timers or anyone looking for a peaceful morning on one of Connecticut’s clearest lakes. 2. Lower Farmington River – Avon to Simsbury (Meet at Nod Brook Wildlife Management Area) Difficulty: Easy | Moving Water This gentle moving-water trip is perfect for families and new paddlers. Float through scenic stretches of the Farmington River surrounded by lush greenery and summer wildlife. 3. Mid-River Adventure – Pleasant Valley to New Hartford (Meet at Main Stream Canoes & Kayaks) Difficulty: Intermediate A step-up paddle with light current and small riffles—a great mix of relaxation and excitement. This scenic 6-mile stretch showcases the natural beauty and mild adventure of the Farmington River. 4. Fall Foliage Finale – West Hill Lake (Meet at West Hill Lake ) Difficulty: All Levels Celebrate the close of the season with a colorful fall paddle. Enjoy crisp air, vibrant foliage, and reflections of autumn leaves dancing on the water.

Backed by research that shows short bouts of intense exercise can be as effective as longer more moderate workouts, this class makes it easy to fit exercise in your schedule. This class will have a short warm up and cool down, and in-between we will be working intensely with fun, full body moves. Modifications will be given so that you can work at the right pace for you. Build on your foundational ballet skills in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Each week features beginner-level exercises at the barre and in the center of the room. Prior completion of Amy’s Introduction to Ballet is required. Wear comfortable clothing; ballet shoes are recommended, though socks are fine. Introduction to Ballet

This class is perfect for someone that has never taken ballet before or has not participated in a ballet class in a very long time. This class is also recommended to be taken before you sign up for Amy’s Basic Ballet & Stretch Class, as we will learn many of the exercises that she does during that class, at a much slower pace. Exercises focus on the core muscles which include the abs, back, glutes and shoulders. We work to create balance and strength in your trunk and loose, limber limbs. Pilates strives to makes you strong and long while improving balance, coordination and posture. Every part of the body gets worked and you’ll discover muscles you never knew you had. Please bring a mat, a water, a green (or medium weight) flex band, and a 7.5-9 inch stability ball. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Simple Stretches with Chair Exercises

Experience a soft, simple stretch and workout for the mind and body. In this class you'll stretch from head to toe with simple, accessible exercises, most of which are done while sitting in a chair. Thera Bands and hand weights are used occasionally. Feel free to bring you own or use ours. At times, you’ll stand with the support of a chair to aid in your ability to balance. This course is wonderful for those who are less mobile and not as flexible. Come exercise in a setting with support from other participants. Wear comfortable exercise clothing and socks (bare feet are fine as well). Due to weather cancellations, the start date of this course may differ from the date listed in our catalog.
