Civics - FOR CREDIT (Gr. 11-12)
The purpose of this course is to provide an intensive study of government, law, and citizenship. Successful completion fulfills the social studies graduation requirement in Civics. Enrollment is on a space-available basis.The class will be taught remotely. Login instructions will be emailed to registrants before the start of class. This course is open to Farmington High School students entering grades 11-12 only.

Basic Ballet & Stretch

Build on your foundational ballet skills in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Each week features beginner-level exercises at the barre and in the center of the room. Prior completion of Amy’s Introduction to Ballet is required. Wear comfortable clothing; ballet shoes are recommended, though socks are fine. This class is perfect for someone that has never taken ballet before or has not participated in a ballet class in a very long time. This class is also recommended to be taken before you sign up for Amy’s Basic Ballet & Stretch Class, as we will learn many of the exercises that she does during that class, at a much slower pace. Exercises focus on the core muscles which include the abs, back, glutes and shoulders. We work to create balance and strength in your trunk and loose, limber limbs. Pilates strives to makes you strong and long while improving balance, coordination and posture. Every part of the body gets worked and you’ll discover muscles you never knew you had. Please bring a mat, a water, a green (or medium weight) flex band, and a 7.5-9 inch stability ball. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Simple Stretches with Chair Exercises

Experience a soft, simple stretch and workout for the mind and body. In this class you'll stretch from head to toe with simple, accessible exercises, most of which are done while sitting in a chair. Thera Bands and hand weights are used occasionally. Feel free to bring you own or use ours. At times, you’ll stand with the support of a chair to aid in your ability to balance. This course is wonderful for those who are less mobile and not as flexible. Come exercise in a setting with support from other participants. Wear comfortable exercise clothing and socks (bare feet are fine as well). Due to weather cancellations, the start date of this course may differ from the date listed in our catalog.

Yoga draws the mind inward awakening energy through coordination of breath and movement. A combination of Hatha yoga postures will teach you how to be fully present in your body increasing strength, flexibility, range of motion, and skeletal alignment. Yoga focuses on both the mind and body and is a proponent of physical healing while reducing stress. "All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today!"
