Summer Learning Academy (Grades 7-8)

Summer Programs / IAR Reading, Writing & Mathematics Workshop -
Summer 2026

This invitation-only summer program is to provide students with extra instruction to reinforce skills and concepts in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. Students may be registered for one or both content areas based on school recommendations.

These invitation only programs are only for students entering Grade 7 or 8

Get ready for a summer of learning, growth, and discovery at Summer Learning Academy! This engaging program is designed to help students strengthen essential academic skills while building confidence and independence in a fun, supportive environment. Students will dive into standards-aligned math practice, reinforcing key concepts through hands-on problem solving and real-world applications that make math meaningful and engaging. In our interactive book clubs, students will explore exciting summer reading selections while developing critical reading, discussion, and writing skills that strengthen their English literacy. The academy will also provide Spanish enrichment and skill building, giving students the opportunity to expand their language abilities through interactive activities, conversation, and cultural exploration. To support success both in and out of the classroom, students will build powerful executive functioning skills—including organization, planning, time management, and study strategies that help them become more independent learners.

At Summer Learning Academy, students will learn, collaborate, and grow while preparing for a confident start to the next school year.
