Relax on board the train as we watch the boats on the lake & enjoy the scenery as we travel roundtrip from Meredith, NH. We will make a NH Liquor Store stop prior to boarding the train. Hart’s Turkey Farm Dinner on board the Train. This is a Hart’s famous home style turkey dinner, just like grandma made at Thanksgiving. Menu: Turkey, Potato, Gravy, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Rolls, Vegetable, & Dessert. YUM! Following our train ride visit Mills Falls Marketplace in the heart of Meredith. Enjoy the al fresco scenic walkways dotted with flowers and sculptures and discover a collection of unique shops and eateries.

Crochet for Beginners: Grades 3 & 4 Get ready to stitch, loop, and create! This hands-on class teaches the basics of crocheting through fun, small-scale projects like bookmarks. This class will have a short warm up and cool down, and in-between we will be working intensely with fun, full body moves. Modifications will be given so that you can work at the right pace for you. Aging in Place: How to Protect Assets and Stay at Home

Connecticut is one of the top 3 states with the highest nursing home and long-term care costs, making it essential to protect what you've worked hard for—ideally while staying in your own home. In this program, we will help you understand how to safeguard your assets and position yourself to age in place. You will learn about Medicaid and other state public benefits, as well as strategies for married and single individuals to protect their assets. All participants will receive an informational booklet on long-term care planning, crafted by our estate planning and elder law firm.

Harvest Pumpkin in Wool: Celebrate the beauty of fall by creating a handcrafted felted pumpkin. Learn shaping, layering, and finishing techniques as you transform colorful wool into a festive autumn keepsake perfect for home décor or gifting. Winter Gnome Workshop: Create a cozy felted gnome ready for the holiday season. Learn techniques for shaping, assembling, and adding character as you make a festive winter decoration that will bring warmth and whimsy to your home. Course fee includes cost of supplies (needles, felting pads, and safety finger guards). Students bringing their own supplies pay a reduced rate.

The objectives of this course are for you to be able to say that I can: Communicate basic information about yourself, your family, your likes and dislikes/hobbies and activities through speaking and writing. Understand basic conversations and read simple texts, advertisements, and informational handouts through a variety of listening/video activities and reading selections. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have learned about state and federal boating laws and guidelines. They will have earned a CT Safe Boating Certificate (often referred to as the "Boater's License"). The State Certified instructor will guide you through the download process which includes a one-time additional payment due to the State of Connecticut of $50.00 per certificate. You are then certified for life. Connecticut's Safe Boating Certificate has reciprocal value throughout the entire United States and its Territories. Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement

This in-depth three session course offers retirees or people thinking about retiring the opportunity to plan for a confident retirement. You’ll learn strategies designed with a goal to help generate a steady income, help safeguard your assets from erosion, reduce taxes, and provide a more confident retirement for you and your spouse. This seminar is designed for retired individuals and couples, and those planning on retiring in the next five to ten years. You will also learn how to make best use of your employer’s retirement plan, evaluate lump-sum distribution options, and help potentially reduce estate taxes through proper estate planning strategies. You’ll also learn about various types of annuities. In addition, we will cover Social Security, Medicare, and ways to provide asset allocation to properly position your assets to your objectives, risk tolerance, and prior investment experience. A spousal guest is included at no cost but must register. There is no assurance provided that the financial concepts and strategies discussed will provide investment success. How to Play Piano by Ear

Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, and free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended.
