Connecticut Boating Certificate
BOATING, PERSONAL WATERCRAFT, and WATER SKI SAFETY CERTIFICATE CLASS This all-inclusive course allows you to legally operate a boat, personal watercraft, and includes the modern water ski towing endorsement. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have learned about state and federal boating laws and guidelines. They will have earned a CT Safe Boating Certificate (often referred to as the "Boater's License"). The State Certified instructor will guide you through the download process which includes a one-time additional payment due to the State of Connecticut of $50.00 per certificate. You are then certified for life. Connecticut's Safe Boating Certificate has reciprocal value throughout the entire United States and its Territories. Paddles on the Farmington Series with Main Stream Canoes & Kayaks
1. Intro to Paddling – West Hill Lake (Meet at West Hill Lake ) Difficulty: Beginner | All Ages Enjoy a calm, beginner-friendly paddle while learning basic techniques and water safety. Ideal for first-timers or anyone looking for a peaceful morning on one of Connecticut’s clearest lakes. 2. Lower Farmington River – Avon to Simsbury (Meet at Nod Brook Wildlife Management Area) Difficulty: Easy | Moving Water This gentle moving-water trip is perfect for families and new paddlers. Float through scenic stretches of the Farmington River surrounded by lush greenery and summer wildlife. 3. Mid-River Adventure – Pleasant Valley to New Hartford (Meet at Main Stream Canoes & Kayaks) Difficulty: Intermediate A step-up paddle with light current and small riffles—a great mix of relaxation and excitement. This scenic 6-mile stretch showcases the natural beauty and mild adventure of the Farmington River. 4. Fall Foliage Finale – West Hill Lake (Meet at West Hill Lake ) Difficulty: All Levels Celebrate the close of the season with a colorful fall paddle. Enjoy crisp air, vibrant foliage, and reflections of autumn leaves dancing on the water.

Babysitter CPR and Beyond! (Ages 11-15)
Babysitting & Child Safety
Learn essential skills to handle medical emergencies with confidence. Topics include infant and child CPR, basic first aid, and assessing situations before calling 911. This course prepares youth to respond quickly and safely in critical moments. Prerequisite: Students should either be certified babysitters or have taken the Babysitting Basics course. The course fee includes an American Red Cross babysitter training book and a certificate that is mailed out within a month of successful completion of the course (student attendance is mandatory to receive a certificate). No snacks or food is to be brought to the class.

Crochet for Beginners: Grades 3 & 4 Get ready to stitch, loop, and create! This hands-on class teaches the basics of crocheting through fun, small-scale projects like bookmarks. Duration: Five weekly one-hour sessions. What you'll learn: Simple stitches, pattern reading basics, and project completion. What’s included: A starter crochet kit and all the yarn needed to succeed. No experience is necessary—just bring your creativity!

The Coder School: Game Dev: Unity & 3D modeling in Blender Ages 11+
STEM
Unity is one of the world’s most popular game engines—it's even behind hits like Pokémon Go! In this camp, students will learn the fundamentals of Unity and begin coding with C# as they build their very own video game from scratch.Students will also dive into Blender, a professional 3D modeling tool used by major studios like Disney. They’ll design and model their own original characters, then import them directly into their Unity game for an epic custom creation.Students must bring their own laptop (Windows or Mac) with the Unity Game Engine installed—it's free to download.Designed for ages 11+, and beginners are absolutely welcome. The Coder School: Lego Masters - 3D printing - Minecraft (Ages 7+)

In our LEGO Masters Camp, students will work with popular LEGO robotics kits—including Mindstorms, Spike, Boost, and Essentials—to build impressive creations and bring them to life using Scratch and Python. They’ll even explore beginner-friendly AI concepts, programming their builds to perform exciting tasks and challenges.Students will also get the chance to create and print their own 3D designs, taking home a custom 3D-printed project.Using Minecraft Education Edition, students will design unique Minecraft worlds through block coding and complete fun problem-solving challenges—such as figuring out how to protect sheep from wolves using code.This camp is designed for ages 7+ and is perfect for beginners as well as students with experience. The Coder School: MrBeast style create your own YouTube video & Webdesign (Ages 8+)
STEM
MrBeast is one of the biggest YouTubers on the planet, famous for his wild challenges, creative ideas, and larger-than-life videos. If you haven’t heard of him, your kids definitely have!In our MrBeast Camp, students will learn how to brainstorm concepts, plan scenes, film footage, and edit their own MrBeast-style video—ready for YouTube. Campers work in small teams to collaborate on filming and editing, giving them hands-on experience with real content creation.Students must bring their own Windows or Mac laptop with DaVinci Resolve installed (free download). During downtime, campers can also build and code their own Minecraft worlds using Minecraft Education Edition.Designed for ages 8+. Beginners are welcome. For ages 8+ only please. The Coder School will provide all needed hardware for this course.

The Coder School: Python - Java - AI - 3D printing Ages 12+

This camp is the perfect foundation for any student planning to take AP Computer Science in high school. Students will begin with Python, one of the fastest-growing and most widely used programming languages in the world—trusted by companies like Google, Facebook, and Instagram. Using Microstudio, they’ll create their own custom projects while learning essential coding concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, and more.Students will also get an introductory look at Java, gaining an understanding of how it differs from Python and how both languages are used in real programming environments.To explore the world of Artificial Intelligence, students will use Google’s Teachable Machine and AI Games, learning how AI models are trained, how they make decisions, and how they process information.Plus, each student will have the chance to design and print their own 3D-printed creation.Designed for ages 12+. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence using Google’s Machine Learning tools, gaining a clear understanding of how AI learns and makes decisions. They will also explore platforms like AI Games, where they’ll train AI models to navigate cars through various levels and challenges.Students will then dive into Python, the world’s fastest-growing programming language used by Google, Facebook, Instagram, and many others. They’ll build fun, custom Python projects while learning essential concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, and more.In addition, students will use Minecraft Education Edition to design projects and interactive worlds powered by their own Python code.This course is ideal for beginner coders, ages 9.5+.
