FIRST® LEGO® League Summer Program (Gr. 1-4)
Lights, camera, STEAM! Science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) inspire big ideas, bold action – and creativity. Our skills make it possible to create art and experiences that bring us together, entertain us, and move us. During this session, FIRST® IN SHOW presented by Qualcomm, we will celebrate the roles our STEM skills play in the arts, design, and building of a world of endless possibilities. The future is yours to create. Under the instruction of the Farmington Robotics Enforcers, students will work together to solve fun engineering challenges and build models using LEGO® bricks, gaining habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way. 1 PM - 4 PM Students in grades 1-4 Students focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. Students should bring their school/personal Chromebook or laptop to class each day, if possible, along with a healthy snack and a water bottle! Cancellation/Refund Policy: Cancellations with a refund will be allowed up to July 22th less a $35 fee. Great for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. Voice-Overs: Now Is Your Time!

Learn how you can begin using your speaking voice for commercials, films, videos, and more! Most people go about it the wrong way. In this introductory course, you will learn about a unique, outside-the-box way to break into this creative, fulfilling, and potentially lucrative industry. Voice-overs can be managed on your terms, on your turf, in your own time, and with minimal overhead! Whether you choose to pursue voice-overs part-time or full-time, this could be the game-changer you’ve been looking for. In addition to online instruction, you will be allowed to book a one-on-one script read and voice evaluation via telephone with your instructor for the following day.

Explore the best mountain parks and forests with expert guides on the most spectacular hiking trails year-round. Enjoy the Year-Round Hiking Club's Top 10 Best Hikes. Enjoy 5 mile, 3 hour, weekly intermediate level hikes on Thursdays at 8:45am. Hiking shoes with vibrant soles, water bottle, and hiking poles are recommended. Monthly hike details and schedule, GPS addresses, and trail maps are emailed. Custom hikes for all ability levels are available upon request. Purchase a Hiking Club Punch Card (good for 10 hikes) to pay as you go! Once purchased, Punch Cards will be mailed to registrants. Top Ten Best Hikes: Bear Mountain/Sages Ravine - Appalachian Trail, Salisbury Ragged Mountain - Blue Red Trail, Berlin Talcott Mountain State Park - Metacomet Trail to Heublein Tower, Simsbury Penwood State Park - Yellow/Metacomet/Orange Trails, Simsbury West Mountain Trails - Red/Blue Trails, West Simsbury Peoples State Forest - Agnes Bowen/Robert Ross/Jessie Gerald Trails, Barkhamsted Tunix Indian Council Caves Trail - Barkhamsted Rattlesnake Mountain Metacomet Trail - Farmington Tariffville Gorge Metacomet Trail - Tariffville Peak/Copper Mountain Metacomet Trail - East Granby Hikes are offered weekly throughout the year on Thursdays. Once registered, hikers will be contacted directly by Grant Summers.
