Cardio Fitness
A friendly exercise program that combines low-impact aerobics with stretching, strength training, and routines to improve flexibility, muscular strength, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. Previous punch cards purchased can be used. Three Options for Purchase...Course Fee - Select this if you want access to all the dates for this given season, no punch card needed.Senior Fee - Reduced rate for seniors who would like access to all the dates for this season, no punch card needed.Punch Card - Purchasing this option will get you a punch card that will allow you access to 10 or 20 sessions of Cardio Fitness across multiple seasons. The Coder School: Game Dev: Unity & 3D modeling in Blender Ages 11+
STEM
Unity is one of the world’s most popular game engines—it's even behind hits like Pokémon Go! In this camp, students will learn the fundamentals of Unity and begin coding with C# as they build their very own video game from scratch.Students will also dive into Blender, a professional 3D modeling tool used by major studios like Disney. They’ll design and model their own original characters, then import them directly into their Unity game for an epic custom creation.Students must bring their own laptop (Windows or Mac) with the Unity Game Engine installed—it's free to download.Designed for ages 11+, and beginners are absolutely welcome. The Coder School: MrBeast style create your own YouTube video & Webdesign (Ages 8+)

MrBeast is one of the biggest YouTubers on the planet, famous for his wild challenges, creative ideas, and larger-than-life videos. If you haven’t heard of him, your kids definitely have!In our MrBeast Camp, students will learn how to brainstorm concepts, plan scenes, film footage, and edit their own MrBeast-style video—ready for YouTube. Campers work in small teams to collaborate on filming and editing, giving them hands-on experience with real content creation.Students must bring their own Windows or Mac laptop with DaVinci Resolve installed (free download). During downtime, campers can also build and code their own Minecraft worlds using Minecraft Education Edition.Designed for ages 8+. Beginners are welcome. For ages 8+ only please. The Coder School: Python - Java - AI - 3D printing Ages 12+

This camp is the perfect foundation for any student planning to take AP Computer Science in high school. Students will begin with Python, one of the fastest-growing and most widely used programming languages in the world—trusted by companies like Google, Facebook, and Instagram. Using Microstudio, they’ll create their own custom projects while learning essential coding concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, and more.Students will also get an introductory look at Java, gaining an understanding of how it differs from Python and how both languages are used in real programming environments.To explore the world of Artificial Intelligence, students will use Google’s Teachable Machine and AI Games, learning how AI models are trained, how they make decisions, and how they process information.Plus, each student will have the chance to design and print their own 3D-printed creation.Designed for ages 12+. The Coder School: Python - Minecraft (Python version) - Artificial Intelligence(Ages 9.5+)

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence using Google’s Machine Learning tools, gaining a clear understanding of how AI learns and makes decisions. They will also explore platforms like AI Games, where they’ll train AI models to navigate cars through various levels and challenges.Students will then dive into Python, the world’s fastest-growing programming language used by Google, Facebook, Instagram, and many others. They’ll build fun, custom Python projects while learning essential concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, and more.In addition, students will use Minecraft Education Edition to design projects and interactive worlds powered by their own Python code.This course is ideal for beginner coders, ages 9.5+. Theatre Academy (Gr. 3 -12)

Beginning with an audition workshop, students will try out for roles in this summer's musical. Each day, students will participate in rehearsals including music, choreography, improv and drama games, backstage production, and most importantly -- FUN! The FINAL performance will take place on July 2nd. Opportunity for rising (7-12) graders: Students with a serious interest in the "behind-the-scenes" portion of theatre will work with mentors in the areas of stage management, directing, costumes, props, and set design. These students will not perform in the play but instead will be working backstage as part of the production. Students should bring a healthy snack, a healthy lunch, and a water bottle daily. Daily Sample Schedule: 9:00 - 9:05 morning meeting 9:05 - 10:00 Workshop 1 10:00 - 10:15 Snack in Cafe 10:15 - 11:00 Workshop 2 11:00 - 11:45 Workshop 3 11:45 - 12:15 Lunch 12:20 - 1:55 Full Cast Rehearsal 2:00 Dismissal NOTES: Registration deadline: June 14, 2025 Cancellation Policy: Cancellations with a refund will be allowed up to June 15 with a $35 fee. Transition for Success (students entering Gr. 9)
FHS Credit Recovery & For Credit Courses
The purpose of the Transition for Success course is to assist students entering 9th grade in developing the tools necessary for positive academic, behavioral, and social/emotional success at Farmington High School. Students will engage in activities to jump-start their freshman year. They will learn about motivation and growth mindset, and they will set goals and organize themselves for a successful launch into 9th grade. Students will receive personalized instruction on the support available to them as students at FHS, including training on using the technologies utilized by FHS faculty and staff as tools for learning. Enrollment is on a space-available basis and open to any incoming FARMINGTON High School students entering grade 9 ONLY and will meet in-person at FHS.

Learn and collaborate with experts in their fields, right from your home or office! UGotClass instructors log in to the classroom regularly to chat with you in the discussion area, post-audio-visual presentations and provide you with helpful readings. With options for courses and certificate programs in categories such as Business, Business Communication, Human Resources, Leadership, Management, New Media Marketing, Social Media for Business, Technology Skills, Training and Education, and Training for K–12 Teachers - there’s something for everyone! With more than 100 online course topics and 30 certificate programs, you should have no problem finding a course to fit your needs today! It is easy to participate in an online course.... After you register, you will receive an email with a web address to your online classroom. You will create a password and use your email address and password to gain access. The online classroom is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are no live real-time requirements or meetings, so you decide when you participate. Visual and Performing Arts Academies (2-8)

This program is contingent on being awarded the Interdistrict Cooperative Grant by the State of Connecticut Department of Education. The program will not run if the grant is not awarded. Notification is expected in May. Visual and Performing Arts Program: The Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Program s a grant-funded program that offers a unique blend of creativity and learning for students. Students can participate in this enriching experience for a $50 registration fee. Students will use scientific observation to analyze natural phenomena, examine human impact on the environment, and explore cultural influences on sustainability. Participants explore a wide range of artistic disciplines, including dance, African drumming, digital design, stop-animation, wearable art, drawing, painting, sculpture, and puppetry. The program also includes a field trip to a local museum, where students will have the opportunity to explore contemporary art and draw inspiration from professional works. This program runs from 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Transportation options are available and are listed at the bottom of this description. *This program is contingent on being awarded the Interdistrict Cooperative Grant through the Connecticut State Department of Education. Since the current program design is contingent on grant funding, should funding not be awarded, the program will NOT be held and the registration fee will be refunded. Notification of grant awards is expected in May.* Transportation: Busing will be available to/from Vance School in New Britain, Linden Street School in Plainville, and Rawson Elementary in Hartford each day. In what could be the most enlightening webinar you’ve ever taken, our instructor and professional voice coach will show you how you can actually begin using your speaking voice for commercials, films, videos, and more. Most people go about it the wrong way. In this introductory class, you will learn about a unique, outside the box way to break into this creative, fulfilling, and potentially lucrative industry. Voice-overs can be managed on your own terms, on your own turf, in your own time, and with minimal overhead! Whether you choose to pursue voice-overs part-time or full-time, this could be the game changer you’ve been looking for. In addition to online instruction, you will be given the opportunity to book a 1-on-1 script read and voice evaluation via telephone with your instructor for the following day. This class will be presented via Zoom, you will receive a link the 24 hours prior to the class.
