The course is part lecture/demonstration and part hands-on instruction. Students will need to have their acoustic guitar on hand. PopularMusic Lessons for Beginners (individual)Music, Dance & DramaLessons are available in Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Ukulele, Mandolin, or Music Theory and Improvisation (pop, blues, and jazz-oriented - NOT classical or traditional). Beginner lessons will introduce basic playing to beginners - no previous music knowledge is needed. Emphasis will be on learning skills by playing classic pop songs. Essential skills and basic note-reading are taught in a fun, supportive setting that allows for development at each student's pace. Program Specifics: Sessions: A: Tuesdays, January 12 - February 2 B: Tuesdays, February 9 - March 2 C: Tuesdays, March 9 - 30 D: Tuesdays, April 6 - 27 E: Tuesdays, May 4 - 25 Lessons are available between 12:30 PM and 9 PM. Each lesson is 30 minutes. Daily lesson materials will be provided by email. Additional books, depending on individual goals, will be recommended but not provided. Topics will include; skill level and musical goals, scales, chords, music theory, improvisation, and practice routines. Program Specifics: Sessions: A: Wednesdays, January 13 - February 3 B: Wednesdays, February 10 - March 3 C: Wednesdays, March 10 - 31 D: Wednesdays, April 7 - 28 E: Wednesdays, May 5 - 26 Lessons are available between 12:30 PM and 9 PM. Each lesson is 60 minutes. Daily lesson materials will be provided by email. Additional books, depending on individual goals, will be recommended but not provided.
