  • Hikes - Nature Walk Series

    Join Farmington Continuing Education for 6 moderately paced nature walks on wooded trails in Central and Northern CT. Appreciate nature’s tranquility and subtle gifts while still getting some exercise with the Top 6 Best Nature Walks. Enjoy 2.5 mile, hour and a half, weekly easy walks on Tuesday mornings starting at 8:45am. Any postponement due to weather will be communicated before the hike via email. Good hiking boots and water are essential, and hiking poles are recommended! All registrants MUST complete a Hiking Waiver BEFORE the start of the course. A link to the Hiking Waiver will be included in the "notes" of the registration confirmation, and can also be found HERE.     Explore the best mountain parks and forests with expert guides on the most spectacular hiking trails year-round. Enjoy the Year-Round Hiking Club's Top 10 Best Hikes. Enjoy 5 mile, 3 hour, weekly intermediate level hikes on Thursdays at 8:45am. Hiking shoes with vibrant soles, water bottle, and hiking poles are recommended. Monthly hike details and schedule, GPS addresses, and trail maps are emailed. Custom hikes for all ability levels are available upon request. Purchase a Hiking Club Punch Card (good for 10 hikes) to pay as you go! Once purchased, Punch Cards will be mailed to registrants. Top Ten Best Hikes: Bear Mountain/Sages Ravine - Appalachian Trail, Salisbury Ragged Mountain - Blue Red Trail, Berlin Talcott Mountain State Park - Metacomet Trail to Heublein Tower, Simsbury Penwood State Park - Yellow/Metacomet/Orange Trails, Simsbury West Mountain Trails - Red/Blue Trails, West Simsbury Peoples State Forest - Agnes Bowen/Robert Ross/Jessie Gerald Trails, Barkhamsted Tunix Indian Council Caves Trail - Barkhamsted Rattlesnake Mountain Metacomet Trail - Farmington Tariffville Gorge Metacomet Trail - Tariffville Peak/Copper Mountain Metacomet Trail - East Granby Hikes are offered weekly throughout the year on Thursdays.
