Summer Art Academy (Gr. 1-6)
Farmington Public Schools art educators invite you to join them for one week of intensive art-making and fun! Join Farmington Continuing Education's first summer art academy at West Woods School in Farmington. Taught by Farmington Public Schools professional educators, this class will have students working in a variety of media and subject matter. Printmaking, weaving, floral painting, watercolor, collage, installation art and more will be covered in this week long course. Students should wear appropriate clothing, and bring waterbottle and lunch daily.NOTES: Registration deadline: July 15 Cancellation Policy: Cancellations with a refund will be allowed up to July 15 less a $35 fee. There are NO cancellations / refunds after July 15.

FIRST® LEGO® League Summer Program (Gr. 1-4)
Lights, camera, STEAM! Science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) inspire big ideas, bold action – and creativity. Our skills make it possible to create art and experiences that bring us together, entertain us, and move us. During this session, FIRST® IN SHOW presented by Qualcomm, we will celebrate the roles our STEM skills play in the arts, design, and building of a world of endless possibilities. The future is yours to create. Under the instruction of the Farmington Robotics Enforcers, students will work together to solve fun engineering challenges and build models using LEGO® bricks, gaining confidence, and teambuilding skills along the way. 1 PM - 4 PM Students in grades 1-4 Students focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. Students should bring their school/personal Chromebook or laptop to class each day, if possible, along with a healthy snack and a water bottle! Day 3 We head for home this morning and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Mohawk Valley along the way. We hop aboard our Cruise on the Historic Erie Canal. Learn the fascinating history of the locks and what transportation was like in the 19th century. Farmington Continuing Education has partnered with The Next Street to provide you with a wide selection of Drivers Education courses. All classroom work is being conducted remotely via Zoom, and The Next Street has over 30 Zoom classes being held each day! Students can join any class schedule and, once enrolled, can take these classes at any time, in any order. Driving Lessons and License Tests are being completed with significant health and sanitation requirements in place. Theatre Academy (Gr. 3 -12)

Beginning with an audition workshop, students will hone their audition skills to try out for roles in Disney's Newsies Jr. Each day, students will participate in rehearsals including music, choreography, improv and drama games, backstage production, and most importantly -- FUN! The FINAL performance will take place on Friday, June 28 in the Irving Robbins Middle School Auditorium. Opportunity for rising (7-12) graders: Students with a serious interest in the "behind-the-scenes" portion of theatre will work with mentors in the areas of stage management, directing, costumes, props, and set design. These students will not perform in the play but instead will be working backstage as part of the production. Students should bring a healthy snack, a healthy lunch, and a water bottle daily. Transition for Success (students entering Gr. 9)
FHS Credit Recovery & For Credit Courses
The purpose of the Transition for Success course is to assist students entering 9th grade in developing the tools necessary for positive academic, behavioral, and social/emotional success at Farmington High School. Students will engage in activities to jump-start their freshman year. They will learn about motivation and growth mindset, and they will set goals and organize themselves for a successful launch into 9th grade. Students will receive personalized instruction on the support available to them as students at FHS, including training on using the technologies utilized by FHS faculty and staff as tools for learning. Enrollment is on a space-available basis and open to any incoming FARMINGTON High School students entering grade 9 ONLY and will meet in-person at FHS.

Relax on board the train as we watch the boats on the lake & enjoy the scenery as we travel roundtrip from Meredith, NH. We will make a NH Liquor Store stop prior to boarding the train. Hart’s Turkey Farm Dinner on board the Train. This is a Hart’s famous home style turkey dinner, just like grandma made at Thanksgiving. With options for courses and certificate programs in categories such as Business, Business Communication, Human Resources, Leadership, Management, New Media Marketing, Social Media for Business, Technology Skills, Training and Education, and Training for K–12 Teachers - there’s something for everyone! With more than 100 online course topics and 30 certificate programs, you should have no problem finding a course to fit your needs today! It is easy to participate in an online course.... After you register, you will receive an email with a web address to your online classroom. You will create a password and use your email address and password to gain access. Explore the best mountain parks and forests with expert guides on the most spectacular hiking trails year-round. Enjoy the Year-Round Hiking Club's Top 10 Best Hikes. Enjoy 5 mile, 3 hour, weekly intermediate level hikes on Thursdays at 8:45am. Hiking shoes with vibrant soles, water bottle, and hiking poles are recommended. Monthly hike details and schedule, GPS addresses, and trail maps are emailed. Custom hikes for all ability levels are available upon request. Purchase a Hiking Club Punch Card (good for 10 hikes) to pay as you go! Once purchased, Punch Cards will be mailed to registrants. Focus on the basics of yoga - for all ages and conditions. Increase your flexibility, reduce stress, and bring a sense of calm to your busy life. Yoga will tone the body, discipline the mind, and improve your overall health. Each session includes stretches, simple breathing techniques, and relaxation. Wear comfortable clothing, have a yoga mat and firm pillow available, and do not eat a big meal before class. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Yoga draws the mind inward awakening energy through coordination of breath and movement. A combination of Hatha yoga postures will teach you how to be fully present in your body increasing strength, flexibility, range of motion, and skeletal alignment. Yoga focuses on both the mind and body and is a proponent of physical healing while reducing stress. "All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today!" Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat. Instruction will take place through Zoom. Young Adventurer's Guild: D&D @ Tabletop Gaming Center (Ages 10-17)

Come learn Dungeons and Dragons at Tabletop Gaming Center in Newington! Through five sessions, an experienced Dungeon Master will guide your young adventurer, and the rest of their party, through the fantastic world of Dungeons & Dragons! Once you sign up for this program, you will be put in contact with Tabletop Gaming Center's outreach coordinator, Val Warner, who will then work with you to place your child into a group. Groups typically are put together during the weekend, but some groups are available during weeknights. Students are grouped by age, generally 10-12/13 and 13-17.
